We own and operate North Otago Ditching & Baling together.
The business was started by Merv in 1990. Merv has over 40 years contracting experience under his belt and helped to introduce square baling to the region.
Dave has worked for the business for over 15 years and now takes on the baleage side of the business. As a family owned business we have been working hard for farmers in the region for quarter of a century providing contract services for round and square balage, earthworks and cultivation. We cover the region from Hampden to the Waitaki River to Twizel.
Our family well understands the needs of farmers as we are farmers ourselves. Merv and wife Jill operate a family dairy farm called Little Ben near Omarama in a 50% partnership with brothers Richard and Matthew Gloag. The 750ha farm milks a herd of 1370 cows through a fully automated 60 bail rotary shed. They also own a 130ha farm at Maheno where they grow grass, barley and fodder beet as well as contract graze 1000 cows through winter.
